Results of the RESPIRA study
Results of the household study
The household study, carried out with relatives of some participants in the RESPIRA study, shows that complying with prevention measures decreases the possibility of infection.
To better understand how COVID-19 spreads within homes, a study was conducted with 719 family members of RESPIRA study participants. Part of the findings of this study reveals that, if all household members adopt preventive measures, when there is a person with COVID-19, the possibility of not getting sick is high, being more than 95%.
These measures are the use of the mask, sleeping in a separate room and avoiding spending time with the infected person.
Since the virus continues to evolve, it is important to maintain preventive measures and complete vaccination schedules.
Vaccine efficacy in Costa Rica
