Biobank
The BIOBANK, certificate ISO 9001: 2015, functions as a space specialized in the preparation, distribution and storage of biological samples and their associated data, for scientific purposes and under a strict ethical and legal framework. This as part of the main capacities at the service of the development of science.
Thus, it is made up of different storage areas at different temperatures, which includes: environment, refrigerated, ultra-low -80 °C and cryogenic -150 °C. In this regard, each of these areas has a large storage capacity for tubes or vials.
In addition to the above, this space works under systems and quality controls of a world-class biobank.

Specialized Laboratories
ACIB–FUNIN, as part of the BIOBANK, has high-tech laboratories and the capacity to carry out studies on research.
All laboratories are equipped with instruments and equipment with the most advanced technology. In addition, they integrate spaces specialized for the simultaneous execution of various procedures for the preparation and analysis of large and diverse amounts of samples.
Genomics laboratory
The genomics laboratory has a high state biomedical technology for performance of molecular biology processes, as well as different areas designated. Within the processes there is the extraction, isolation and quantification of nucleic acids, amplification by PCR and RT-PCR, as well as next-generation sequencing (NGS). The objective of this laboratory is the study of the structure, function and evolution of the genes of organisms. Also, detection procedures are currently being carried out and genotyping of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and detection of Sars-Cov-2.

Preparation laboratory for samples
This laboratory is intended for the preparation, pre-treatment, storage and handling, of various types of samples, stories such as: blood, saliva, mouthwash, urine and cervical. Therefore, the laboratory is Equipped with centrifuges, workstations, microscopes, bottle openers, tubes, special refrigerators and freezers, among other useful instruments for these tasks.Cytological staining laboratory
In this laboratory, the preparation and staining of slides of cytologies and histologies of the different studies is carried out. This through a team specialized for immunohistochemical staining, which consists of a method based on enzyme reactions from the use of monoclonal antibodies and polyclonal that serve to detect antigens in cells and tissues.
